6 FALL NAIL COLOR TRENDS TO LIVEN UP YOUR SEASONAL MANICURE

Like most beauty “rules”, the concept of a seasonal nail color rule is outdated, best left out, and perhaps partly a result of patriarchy. When it comes to manicures, the only “rule” worth noting is simple: You’re friends. But that doesn’t mean you can’t embrace trends or lean towards colors that feel particularly festive at certain times of the year.
This fall, the story of color belongs to the “whatever happens” variety. “We’re seeing a lot of earthy 70s-inspired neutrals and tones,” says Jin Soon Choi, manicurist and founder of Jin Soon Hand & Foot Spa in New York City. . From matte, dusty pastels to stony greys, Choi considers these to be “perfect, subtle and effective shades” but also “cool, moody and edgy”.
Olive green is also one of the most loved nail polish colors for fall, according to Choi. In fact, “edible” and absorbable tones in general are having a moment: We’ll also see a lot of crushed burgundy, crunchy green apple, and milk chocolate ice cream.
As for other nail trends worth checking out, Choi points to the French manicure as the standout nail of the season; For less predictability, try using any combination of color trends for a non-traditional French look.
