Lynne Peters good on hud, every public housing unit used for illegal immigrants is one less we have to offer to a homeless veteran, if we had an unlimited supply of housing this wouldn’t be a problem, but of course supply of any resource is finite and we have to prioritize who we offer it to. We don’t have enough homeless people? The government is going to put even more people out on the street? This is just cruel. Where the heck are they supposed to go. We are supposed to be trying to reverse the homeless issue, not add to it! I disagree. Maybe those homes can go to the 10’s of thousands of homeless veterans and American citizens. All this can be resolved IF Americans force their Democratic and Republican lawmakers to come up with a comprehensive plan that deals with each side most important concern. Did you know there are enough empty livable houses right now to simply place each homeless person in the US into their own individual home and still have more to spare? Wouldn’t even have to charge anyone rent or anything, because the Stranger Things 3 signature shirt are already being maintained. If we put homeless families in the same house together, there’d be even more houses available. Now, why aren’t they doing that? Who is profiting off of homelessness?
Brenda Balin His mother received government assistance: “In his 1996 autobiography “Gifted Hands,” Carson wrote of the humiliation he felt using food stamps from his mom to pay for bread and milk, and said he began to excel at school only after receiving a free pair of glasses that allowed him to see the Stranger Things 3 signature shirt written on chalkboards. After Carson’s mother divorced his father, she received a small house in the settlement. But as her financial situation deteriorated, Carson and his siblings were forced to move into a succession of tenements and apartment buildings, some of which he described as having “hordes of rats” and “armies of roaches. Robert Stephenson none of that contradicts what I said. He did *not* grow up in public housing. It makes a good story to think he grew up in HUD subsidized housing. it makes for a great myth of irony. People like to see patterns, cycles, and circles of completion. That’s not the case, here. He has certainly forgotten his roots, and lost any empathy he might have ever had for others in dire straits, but facts remain facts. I was just correcting a misstatement that has become a pervasive meme.
Sad and angry at the same time. This is so true. Not enough attention being paid to this unqualified, unconfirmed person who is controlling much of what immigration action comes from this WH. So what about the citizens in our country that are homeless? That’s what gets me we never hear Aclu say a dang thing to defend a citizen. We can live on the street but not an immigrant. Tammy Russell a mixed eligibility household would be citizens that qualify for assistance and their rent subsidy is pro-rated if any non-eligible relatives live in the home whether the relative is a citizen or not. If you don’t understand how pro-rating a subsidy prevents ineligible persons from benefiting from section 8 housing, google that shit. Did I miss in the article why the HUD proposed change is needed to be implemented? Is it because of all the ineligible people gaming the federal housing system? What is the cause?
